Kevork, ” Gulf countries, Israel, South East Asia, Africa, Latin America, all built their security doctrine on the assumption that American military protection is the ultimate insurance policy.”
They were all stupid, ignorant, gullible politicians, economists, journalists, entire populations, who, like children, believed, and many still believe, in fairy tales.
Any government, with any president in the White house, has, like the presidents of all countries, the OBLIGATION, the duty of ensuring their ‘national’ war industries sell. Who buys them, who kills, who dies, is NOT their concern.
America even kills its own people, think of the 67,000 dead Americans in Vietnam only. In more recent times thousands of American citizens have died in Iraq, Afghanistan and in many other countries, often killed by projectiles or explosives made in USA.
Russia, France, China, India, UK, etc, all do the same. Former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, after the sale of Canadian killing toys allowed the Saudis to kill Yemeni people – replied to journalists “I’m the Prime Minister of the Canadian people. I’m responsible for their welfare. My priority is that Canadians don’t lose their jobs, even if that means dead Yemeni.”
Do you really think America offers ‘protection’ and “Security” to Israel? since the War Club UN create the State of Israel, Israelis have never lived in Peace. Life in Israel has been HELL, like it is now. People can’t sleep. Sirens ring all the time, signalling all people have to run down into their safety bunkers. Imagine families with 2-3 small children, waking them up in the middle of the night, explaining to the sleepy, unhappy, crying child why they can’t sleep in their beds.
Iran politicians know this very well and are following the rule of the Game to perfection.
I repeat: America does NOT protect Israel. America protects the wellbeing of the American War industry. Remember that in the US almost 90% of donations to political parties come from the war industry. This “investment” has to pay off. Washington has only one way of paying back the favour: organise wars, genocides, etc.
Finally, I’d like to say that in a world where military transactions are the best business for politicians and diplomats, it is quite naive to expect a different world than the one politicians give us.
