Dear GG, it seems you believe UN diplomats and politicians care about people’s wellbeing! all the inconveniences, expenditure, housing, education, health and employment problems, cost of living, environmental pollution, homelessness and other humanitarian crisis caused by wars are the price to pay, so that the War Machine UNITED NATIONS can make millions for themselves, live a life of luxury, pay for their New York and Geneva state of the art Gymnasiums, subsidise their first class restaurants, first class travel and other perks. This is why they rightly changed the name High Commission for Refugees for the suitably commercial name of Refugee Agency. The current Secretary General, António Guterres, took office in 1917, after 10 years at the helm of the Refugee Agency, for whom he made millions with all the wars UN promoted in that period. Basically, for the UN, the more refugees there are, the better.
Blame humanity for this state of affairs. They have been well brain-soiled (although we call it brain-washed) to believe the War industry (Armed Forces, weapons, explosives, missiles, warships, tanks, air-fighters) are for living in Peace!
