The Racket That Never Sleeps 2
GG, your description war, as you analyse Major General Smedley Butler’s thoughts on the subject, is faultless. However the Alternative to war, as suggested by Margaret Mead is not so accurate. Ms Mead says “The greatest obstacle to peace is not human nature but the belief that war is unavoidable”.
She’s right in a sense, because people have been brainwashed to believe that “war is unavoidable”. But Ms Mead forgets to speak about the “racket”. The racket is not unavoidable. If there were no wars, millions of workers in the war industry will lose their jobs and not be able to feed their families, pay their rent, etc.
To cut my story short, I say: there are many industries that are rackets, but the war industry is the unnecessary business of lies and deception.
