Harrogate Quaker Meeting House and HUFUD (Humanity United for Universal Demilitarisation) join forces to present an all-day Peace Conference: lectures, speeches, videos, photographs and debates that will show the way to a world without wars.

 

With the following speakers and presentations:

Shahina Jaffer (WILPF)
“Peace No Nukes”
Shahina Jaffer is an Artist, Peace Campaigner and a member of the Women’s International League of Peace & Freedom. Shahina will discuss her online exhibition commemorating the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons which came to force on 22 January 2021.
Chad Manian (HUFUD Co-founder)
“Technology, Surveillance and Human Rights in the Age of Digital Warfare”
Chad Manian is a human rights activist, peace campaigner, author, interdisciplinary research scholar and lecturer specialising in global strategy and ethical governance. As a former financial market expert Chad was among the first to predict the financial collapse of 2008.

Angelo is a human rights defender and peace & disarmament activist. He is Vice President of Humanity United for Universal Demilitarisation (HUFUD), Representative of Latin America in the Council of the Nobel peace prize-winning International Peace Bureau (IPB), and Co-founder & Co-President of the Ibero-American Alliance for Peace. His work for peace and human rights has earned him international awards, including the 21st Century Icon Award, the Youth Leadership Award and the Diana Award.
